The Observation of an Eagle
One day as I soared above the harsh land
I beheld two young men as they travelled
They struck out with naught but a gun in their hand
From the rotting city which had hasseled
The men with its festering air
Which choked like a chain
They crossed the hot desert when water grew rare
The first gave of his own to his unknowing friend and thus did abstain
To save his companion he paid the price
Of finding the unshakled joy of that mountain spring.
He was laid deep within that blessed paradise
With the thanks of his brother which forever in reverent silence does ring.
